WHAT IS YOUR PERSPECTIVE?

A perspective can change everything. A particular situation can have different meaning for different people.

SCENE: “A BIRD FLYING HIGH IN THE SKY”

A painter exclaims, “Wow! What an amazing contrast of colors in life”.

A scientist deduces,” This is the basic fundamental of aerodynamics and fluid mechanics. We should learn all the pros and cons from this bird’s flight, before designing a better aircraft.”

A poet wonders, “What a beauty, the scene depicts, the bird soaring amidst clouds trying to reach the peak.”

A woman sings, “Oh! How I wish I could fly as high as the bird with my wings spread by, without any destination.”

A politician screams, “Ah! That silly bird, how far does it think it can fly. It doesn’t know me, what can I do to the blue sky.”

A prisoner laments, “Hope I get to see the clouds moving and can fly freely as this bird under the open sky.”

A hunter whispers, “O!  an easy prey for me today. Wait until I catch you, there’s a net ahead to trap you.”

A follower of spiritual path, “O! How great is my Lord! He who can color the sky azure and make the tiny bird fly.” It’s his creation, how blessed I am to witness his grace before I die.”

A child gazes at the beautiful bird flying above in the clouds and smiles with innocence. It neither thinks nor analyzes but instead enjoys the moment of happiness.

So what is your perspective when you look at things?

Dreams

The wonderful journey of the Festival of words from Write tribe comes to an end today! When it concludes with the topic of “DREAMS”.A positive and a very optimistic note to end anything! Before bidding goodbye, how beautiful and exhilarating it will be if we talk of our dreams…

Dreams of thousand aspirations, desires, fantasies, urges, thinkings, wishes and ultimately our unconscious temptations.A whole canvas is ready to get painted ,the moment we pick the brush and decide to colour a particular dream!

The string of our life is reined tight by these dreams… The small joyous one fill us with delight and the larger than life ones infuse in us the determination to move on in life .

Just imagine! How lifeless life would be without dreams, like a song without any musical note!

I sing today the song of life

fills my soul which with delight…

with myriad dreams it wings me to fly

to unknown destinations far off than the sky…

butterflies ,birds gaze at my flight

with varicoloured feathers I emboss my life

plays softly the music within…

when  chords of my heart

sync with harp of time…

Life- A journey

Someone asked  what is it that makes you love travelling?

I was surprised and taken aback by the question. Is there any charm in sitting in a corner of a world enjoying a cup of coffee and tea every morning form the same set of cup and saucer ,watching the same panoramic view everyday ?Isn’t life more than this? Or is it just the comfort that we crave for? Do we hate changes or are we so afraid of the changes that occur around us, that we do not take the risk of stepping out of our fixed and permanent dwelling?

Our planet is the only one which until now supports life and is a place of enchanting landscapes and facets of nature.

Stepping out of the walls of our house, village, town, city or country ,shall make us believe what we missed by not traveling to the innumerable places.

Nature has abundance love and serenity to offer and any journey to its midst  shall rejuvenate our senses . Even if we travel to a nearby temple or a historical place, every such journey is informative, exciting, exhilarating and interesting .

It is the main  characteristic of a being to travel, the soul travels through several girths of births to ultimately be on earth . It is the continous journey that evolves one, whether by mind, body or soul.

Life is one such journey which gives us an opportunity to be closer to one of the glorious creations of the creator ,the  beautiful nature . This journey of life is an upheaval one with numerous tides and storms . Every step and travel teaches us a different aspect and truth about life.Had it been a static action and not a dynamic one,we would have become stagnant as the scum floating over the still waters .

It’s the flow, the run, which makes the river and the stream alluring and keeps it clean and pure. The flow is incessant and endless until it meets the gigantic ocean.

It’s the blooming of a bud which makes it beautiful ,had there been only buds or flowers instantly ,it would have been the most boring thing to watch everyday.

The process through which the bud blossoms into a delicate flower is a journey of that bud.

Like the birds flying high in the sky,who soar in search of food and shelter. It is the dynamism, the motion of life that makes it more appealing and reverberating.

Had a sound wave never traveled, the classic piece of melody could have never been formed! And Music would have never been created!

The eternal truth of this life is to travel to the destination, in life whether for work, pleasure, peace or adventure.

THE MUSIC OF NATURE

The rhythm of life ,the vibration of a fluttering leaf, the thundering of clouds or the gushing of a flowing stream, this is the melodyThe Music of Nature.

Music of the eternal nature which can carry us for thousand miles without letting us know through the fragrance of the cool breeze and with the white bunch of clouds travelling.

Different lands it traverses, playing the beats of simple harmony, never can anything surpass this, the melodious symphony.

Music is the pulse of a throbbing heart, music is the love of the singing bauls, music is the quiver of the sitar strings, music is the cadence of the soul ,while it seeks divine.

Music is the muse of art,

 tone of a pitch,

stroke of a painting brush,

the creation of nature pristine,

in every breath,intones the music,

Eternal is thy ,when it becomes Divine.

MUSIC – Today’s prompt.

The Mirror of Self

Some pages from the old book fluttered and reminded me of the times when I held the fanciful favourites in my hands.

While as a kid,I cherished the enchanting pictures of the fairytales where the Russian Tsar and Tsarinas flew and galloped on horses. Those tales always created a beautiful imagination in my mind and like being in the land of the princesses for quite a time. The hardcovered books ,their illustrations were so  unique that it fascinated every child’s mind.

Even though I could never buy those costlier ones,I managed to read them while on my visit to a cousin’s place.

In growing years, the choice of books changed and the tomboyish look got more inspired with the sleuth Nancy Drew series. Believe it or not, I actually dreamt of having a career as a detective for few years.

Books have this natural tendency of creating a world which is so surreal that the reader gets involved in the characters and the situation as a part of it. That is why it is often said,

“Books are the food for  mind.”

And so we should always try to select good books. Every book has a different role to play and if aptly done,it creates a positive effect on us.The kind of writing which invokes the negativism, can never contribute towards the welfare of the society. Such books are the outcome of the frustrations of a person while of that age and that particular society. As writers are always a part of society, they write what they see, feel, understand, comprehend and realize around them.Yet it is their duty to present before the world in books not a world of fantasy ,but a place of reality with motivational thoughts, the truth with a ray of hope and practical thoughts with some inspiration and depth.Such books are the real literature of that society and culture then, which for ages shall never die or perish.

Like the legendary “Gitanjali” which shall always remain the symbol of pure thoughts of the Late.Rabindranath Tagore.

My teens had a wide range of favourites from the classics of Shakespeare,to the gorgeously written “Jane Eyre”,whether the story of “ David Copperfield”or of the innocent “Heidi”.

I got rolled over by the classical literature of that times but could hardly buy those books. Whatever I read during my childhood was all from the school library. Thanks to it,I got introduced to the variety. Fortunately or unfortunately, like every other girl,I never read Mills and Boon until marriage, neither the Sidney Sheldon’s.Even though I tried keeping rose flowers inside the books as memories ,but they faded along with the prints and writings of those books. Those were times when I tried exploring all the kinds of fictions and even liked P.G.Woodehouse for quite a long time.

The books we read mostly reflect the mindset and thought process we are in at that period of time. The level of our maturity and understanding solely can be understood seeing the type of books we are interested in. It is in these books that we try to find ourselves, our character and our nature. Every individual tries to identify himself in the characters of the book and feels strongly about it when he discovers any.

Books which often provide a sense of contentment are ones which motivate us through their characters and inspire us in times of dullness. Some infuse in us the strength of facing the real difficulties of the world while bringing a smile on our faces.

Unlike my passion, which is writing poetry, I never read poetry books in my whole lifetime. The ones which I read were those included in the school syllabus and had to be compulsorily read.

But till date two poems remained my favourite ,I remember them quite vividly for their permanent imprint on my mind, “Daffodils” by William Wordworth and  “The Highwayman”.

Nevertheless books have been the silent friends of every individual and so of mine. Today after such a long journey of life, I cherish the times when I got a book as gift from anyone or as a prize in any competition, but I am delighted that Iam  an author of four books now… and might be someday I will be the favourite of some or many ,who like me shall get inspired and cherish my books and writings.

“AMBROSIA”- THE FOOD & DRINK OF GODS

“Ambrosia ” -The eternal food and drink of the celestial beings and gods which makes them immortal.

prspctiveonlife-1181422800-fractal1

Phtocredit:blogedutics.wordpress.com

Well! This is what we have learnt and read through our mythological scriptures. What is so special about this food or drink that makes it so extraordinary and provides immortality? Is there any mixture of potion added or some unique composition which makes it stand out from the rest?

Ambrosia is sometimes depicted in ancient art as distributed by a nymph labeled with that name. In a myth, an opponent to the wine god Dionysus, violence committed against Ambrosia turns her into a grapevine.

Amrita is a hindi or sanskrit word for Ambrosia.

Amrita is produced in the “ocean-churning” samudra manthan legend, which describes how the devas, because of a curse from the sage Durvasawere to lose their immortality. The two sides, god and demons then churn the ocean and create (among other wonderful things) amrita, the nectar of immortality.

Amrit too ,according to yogic philosophy of Indian spiritualism,is considered to be the liquid which is secreted while being in ecstasy and utter bliss ,during the assimilation with god or while having such an experience during meditation which carries the soul to different realm of consciousness.

Ambrosia is considered to be a sweet liquid, similar in taste like honey, referred normally as nectar.

The whole gist reflects the drop of ambrosia or the essence of Ambrosia ,the food, is not a substance that can be used as an intake to get immortality of life.

It is the sweetness that is extracted when we churn out the evils from our body and mind ,leaving behind only the immortal part ie.the soul.It is in fact the drop of nectar which gets secreted when the soul reaches the ultimate level of consciousness and leaves behind the rest to experience the spiritual bliss, which make it immortal.
